Poetry In The Word

BLACKADDER Tim Challies
has written a couple of times on this much more skillfully than I can (I chase rabbits like they’re going out of style, as you must know by now).

I have been seeing the same things in my ESV Bible, and I really like it. I’m not an accomplished study of linguistics as Challies is, but I hesitate to say I’m sorely lacking in literary comprehension.

The specific wording and use of phrases in the Bible really is significant. Leaving out a choice poetic word or concept really can leave the message lacking in quality, and in some cases lacking in much more.

But you can read about it on his site. I’m not going to rehash something Challies has done well, and more than once.
